Notifications

Know which pop-ups the app shows while you connect an account, and where the notification centre lives.

AO tells you what’s happening with short pop-ups in the bottom-right corner of the screen, most of them while an account you’re connecting moves through setup.

The notification centre

The bell labelled Notifications sits at the top of the sidebar. On a phone it’s in the top bar. Click it to open the panel from the right.

The centre is reserved for market alerts. Alert delivery isn’t switched on yet, so for now the panel reads No notifications yet, and none of the pop-ups below are kept there.

Connection pop-ups

While a trading account is connecting, a pop-up follows you around the app with the account’s name, the current stage and “Step 1 of 4” through “Step 4 of 4”. Open setup takes you back to the setup page. The progress pop-up stays hidden while you’re on that account’s setup page.

  • If you close the pop-up, it comes back when the connection reaches its next stage.
  • When setup finishes, an Account connected pop-up (“Step 4 of 4. Live data is flowing.”) appears wherever you are, including the setup page, and closes on its own after a few seconds.
  • If something goes wrong, for example there’s no account capacity left or MetaApi is having trouble, the pop-up says so and stays until you close it or the problem clears.

Other messages

Short confirmations and errors, such as “Message copied” in Community or “Navigation restored to defaults” in Settings, appear briefly and aren’t kept anywhere.

New messages in Community don’t go to the notification centre. They show as unread counts beside each channel and direct message on the Community page.
